In Pack Of I.C.T

The Impacts Of I.C.T

Many people around the world are now using ICT to communicate with their  friends  and to use ICT to shop online. This is affecting  society  because if there and more people using ICT shop online local shops will slowly start closing down. This is because if people are shopping online the local shops are not earning any money so they will have to close down also when the local shops have closed down people will graffiti on the walls and make the area where they live look abysmal and uncivilized. Another effect that will occur if local  shops close down is  that people will now be going out anymore to shops with losing their jobs because of the shops closing  down. This is also an impact on the economy. If online shopping continues hackers will hack peoples account and committing identity theft. People who continue to use ICT to communicate with their friends and family they will become lazy and out of shape.

Ethical:
The majority of the world’s population has access to a Facebook/Twitter account. This affects society because people who use Facebook/Twitter will become lazy and out of shape also if they don’t go outside to talk to their friends or family they will have a lack of human contact. Talking to new people online may be a good thing however, someone may pose as someone who is the same age as you but actually it could be someone in their 30’s. Paedophilia is a major risk. If people continue to use Facebook/Twitter they will remain isolated in their own homes.

Legal:
May people around the world who use ICT for the internet  access illegal downloads that can be easily found. A website that is well known for illegal torrent downloads www.theperatebay.com Most of these downloads contain viruses like malware which can seriously damage your computer. Many young teens that use the internet have easy access to download pornography. One way is that a teenager can lie about their age and say that they are over 18 years of age. After the teenager has given their fake age they will be charge. Another way that a teenager can click on an advert which can relocate them on to a pornography website where they can give fake date of birth and has access to pornography. People can download films that haven’t been released in cinemas yet. This means that if people continue to download films that have not been released in cinemas will run out of business because no one will go and see new films in cinemas anymore so the cinemas will not earn any money. Illegal downloads have tried to be prevented by copyright laws however, it has not been successful.

Unequal Access:
Not everyone has access to a computer. This may be because they cannot afford a more recent computer that can handle recent stoneware. Some people may not use ICT to communicate or use the internet because they don’t have the skills to search the internet. This can become a major problem because these people will fall behind in the latest software also will not be able to apply for jobs online or apply for jobs that need ICT skills. People who do have access to a computer and have the skills to use it then a computer are very beneficial to them because online education can easily be access through websites.

Gaming:
Computer gaming is very popular round the world and has many negative effects. If all what people do is play games on computers all day will make them become lazy and dependent  also even though you can communicate with your friends people will be talking to their friend in person however, gaming does have good benefits such as educational games. This is a benefit because teenagers can learn at home while having the same experience as they would while playing a normal game. Gaming also keeps people occupied.

Economical:
Economy also has benefits from ICT. One benefit is employment. This is great benefit because many people will be able to get a job by applying online and using ICT in jobs however, many people will lose their jobs because they don’t have the skills to use a computer. People who use ICT their jobs can work at home whereas people who use ICT in their jobs don’t will have to pay to travel to their jobs.
